I’m using EE4 on a WP site. As you can see on this page: http://onevoicecentraltx.org/advocacy/ the calendar widget is showing expired events. Show expired events is set to “no” in the widget’s settings…

Hi Isaac, the site that you shared is running an older version of Event Espresso 3. Could you backup and update to the current release of Event Espresso 3?

Everything is updated now, can you take another look? I’m having the same problem.

Hi Isaac,

Looking at your site I can only see an event for today, have you removed the other events you had problems with?

Hi,

Sorry to be a pain, but I cannot see the calendar widget on http://onevoicecentraltx.org/advocacy/, can you clarify its location please?

I apologize, the client asked me to get rid of the widget since it wasn’t working and the site is live. I set it up here for you: http://onevoicecentraltx.org/widget-test/

Also, we are actually using EE3…not sure if you can change the title of this ticket.

I have a separate issue I need to address as well – I installed the Recurring Events addon but it didn’t add the new section it was supposed to in my events editor. Can you take a look at that as well or should I create a new ticket?

Hi Isaac,

Please create a new forum post for the Recurring Events issue, otherwise this forum thread may get confusing.

Regarding the expired events in the widget, are you sure these are expired? Looking at the individual events, the date states that it has passed (e.g. 30th March) but the registration form is still open.

So it makes me wonder if the end date has actually passed yet or if perhaps the registration dates are also still open. Could you double check the dates for the events please? A screenshot for one of the affected events (event editor dates) would be great if you can.

I actually can’t find those events in the event overview – it looks like they were deleted. (I didn’t do the initial setup of this site so I’m not sure what went down before I took it over). Do you want logins?

If the events are listed on the Widget, they must still exist within Event Espresso. However the default Event Overview filters will likely be removing those events from the overview.

You’ll need to set the status filter to ‘All (Active/Inactive)’ – http://take.ms/LDiBI

Depending on how many events you have you may also need to pull multiple groups from the Database (this value defaults to 50) – http://take.ms/oI35d

Or set that dropdown to ‘All’ and pull all the events, then search through those.

So if yo do the above steps can you find those events?

Looking at the events it appears the ‘registration end’ dates are still valid dates (which will prevent the Event from becoming ‘expired’)

That worked! I found the events and the problem was just as you suggested. Thanks so much!
