Hello, So I set up the calendar and it looks great, I just had a couple questions about it. 1) I like the look of using “Enable Filters in Calendar”, however, I feel like there are huge, unneccesary gaps between the filter and the calendar. Can I make the gap smaller? 2) If the event name is longer than 18 characters or so, it just gets cut off. Can I make the font smaller or is this the only option? It’s not too bad since when you hover over it, it will then display the whole name. Just curious. 3) If I have an event that will take place for multiple days or weeks (such as a class), it will continue to show that event week after week. How can I make it so it only shows on day 1 of that event? Thanks! |
Hi, We’ll need to see the site to answer 1 & 2. For 3, you’ll need to create weekly classes instead of a single event with a datetime that spans across several weeks. Please see this support post for more information on setting this up: https://eventespresso.com/topic/new-to-ee4-how-to-display-weekly-classes/#post-123061 — |

Thank you for the quick reply. The calendar can be viewed on: redacted – LOC You can see the events starting in November. The gaps can be seen both above and below “Select a Category / Select a Venue.

Thanks, could you temporarily turn off the minify option so we can browse the CSS from your theme? This may be through your theme or a caching plugin. — |

I am not currently using a caching plugin currently. I have the Avada theme, do you know how I would turn it off? |
Hi, Could you go to this page in your WordPress dashboard and toggle text mode? Then could you check for any extra html tags such as pre. If there are, then please remove them and save changes. Only the calendar shortcode itself should remain. — |

That fixed everything, thanks! I don’t know why pre was in there though? |

Hey Lorenzo, I was looking at the link you showed me to fix my issue with the calendar. I have a course that is going on for several months, but I only want the calendar to show day 1 of that course. I do not want to change the dates on the event though, because I need clients to be able to see the course period when signing up. Is there a way to show only the first date on the calendar? Thanks |
Hi Alexander, Is this a weekly course and is it a series of events that are linked together? For example, beginner –> intermediate –> advanced? — |

Hello, No, for example I may have a course that will take place from November 17th and end on January 19th. The classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I put into Event Espresso the class start and end date so when a student signs up, they see both dates in the table view. However, in the calendar view it shows the classes recurring every week. Another example is with a shorter course that is only two days. Class 1 is held on November 11th and class 2 is held on November 14. I enter both days into Event Espresso so the student can see both days that have to be attended, and it automatically shows both days in the calendar. I would like for only day #1 of any class to show in the calendar. Is there some code or setting I can use for that? Can it be altered to do that? Thank you |
|
Hi, There are no settings for this, as its a part of the calendar itself. The easiest option would be to set the event as a single day and then advise in the description that it runs on other mandatory dates. Other than that you would have to modify the calendar’s code to achieve that functionality. Looking at the code it would take a developer to assist you with modifying the actual output, it’s not a straightforward fix. |

Dean, I understand, thank you for taking a look at it for me. I will see if I just play around with the description to make it look nice; if not, I may have to contact a developer. |
