Just purchased an account with Authorize.Net to take advantage of your plugin for “EE4 Authorize.Net SIM Payment Gateway”. However, I just found out that Authorize.Net has deprecated the API method SIM and will soon announce the End of Life date. What plugin do you have or will have that will replace the current “EE4 Authorize.Net SIM Payment Gateway”.

Hi there,

The Event Espresso plugin includes a built-in Authorize.net payment gateway that uses the supported Advanced Integration Method (AIM). You can follow the set up guide to get started with the AIM gateway:

Hi Josh,

What is the differences between using the plugin for Authorize.net SIM vs Authorize.net AIM?

The reason we started using SIM is because we liked the fact that collecting payment information was done on Authorize.net server.

What does SIM provide that AIM will not?

SIM is an offsite payment method where the user is redirected to a page on Authorize.net where they input their billing information. AIM is onsite where they stay on your site and input the billing information.

There are other supported offsite payment methods for Event Espresso 4 and these include:

PayPal Express
Cybersource

You might also check out Stripe and Braintree which take a different approach where the user stays on your site but the billing information is captured in a embedded form so the credit card information doesn’t hit your server. More information about those options here (Stripe Checkout) and here (Braintree Drop-in).
