Hey, as y’all know already, I’ve asked about upgrading to EE4 several times and each time ER4 does not offer some things that EE3 does… Example recurring events. So I was wondering when EE4 will be fully functional offering all the same features as EE3?

Also… I just signed up for mailchimp and I know that EE3 supports it. However is this plugin designed to automatically capture the guests information (the info they enter when they are purchasing tickets?) which is already downloaded into Stipe? In other words… When they enter their info, is it transferred to MC automatically to use in email campaigns?

Also… Is it only the information entered AFTER the plugin is activated? Or does it go into the database and suck im all the previous guests information as well?

Hi Guy,

So I was wondering when EE4 will be fully functional offering all the same features as EE3?

There are a few different hurdles we are working through to include recurring events into EE4. For example we recently released the attendee re-assignment add-on for testing, this was needed to allow admins to move registrants from one event to another (or another ticket within the same event). The reason this needed to be released before REM is simply because REM exacerbates the problem (you now have multiple events, each with the possibility of users registering onto the wrong one or wanting to move from one event to the other without the above, that’s not an easy task).

We will soon be moving onto wishlists and then recurring events, you can view the planned features on our roadmap here:

https://trello.com/b/zg9DCIpe/event-espresso-public-roadmap

We would love to have EE4 support all of the features available within EE3 right now, (note EE4 has more feature than EE3, just not the same feature set) however we are a small team working through the features with the most requests so it all takes time.

The EE3 version only sends over the first name, last name and email address to MailChimp.

The EE4 version allows you to create additional merge vars within your list and then assign answer to specific questions for those merge vars per event.

Also… Is it only the information entered AFTER the plugin is activated? Or does it go into the database and suck im all the previous guests information as well?

Only registrations made AFTER the plugin has been activated.

How do I use it? There is no documentation I can find on how to integrate MC with EE3 I’ve downloaded and activated the plug in. Entered the MC. aPI key… Now what. I’ve created a list in MC called Show Guests…

There is no real controls on the EE side of things other than entering the API key. What do I do to make it talk to each other. ?

With the mailchimp add-on enabled and the API entered into settings you’ll find the ‘MailChimp List Integration’ metabox shown within each individual Event – http://take.ms/IDhZ92

You select the list that the registrants should be added to to there.

Once you have done that any registrations made onto the event should be added to your MailChip list. EE3 will only pass the system questions First Name, Last Name and Email over to Mailchimp.

We have some documentation for the MailChimp Add-on here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/mailchimp-integration/

The first half is for EE3 and the second EE4.
