Migrated from EE3 to EE4 and now all the featured images are blurry on the calendar view. I even tried re-uploading the featured image manually and still blurry. All my images in media library are high res. Is EE4 not going to be able to use the hundreds and hundreds of existing files in my media library? What’s the fix?

Hi,

This can happen if your site’s Media Settings “Thumbnail size” Width is less than the width of the calendar cell width.

For example if your thumbnail size width is 150px, and the calendar cell width is 200px, then the images will be blurry regardless of uploaded resolution.

The fix for this is change your thumbnail size settings (you go to Settings > Media) so they’re at a minimum the same width as the calendar cell.

Then after the change is saved you’ll need to regenerate the thumbnails, and this plugin does just that:

Your web browser has an inspection tool where you can inspect the calendar cell and get its width. If you’re unsure, you can set the width to 200px, a little wider is OK because the calendar will downsize the image and they’ll still look sharp (they’re blurry when they get up-sized)
