Hey Guys,

Just wanted to check if EE3 continues to run smoothly with the latest upgrade to WP 4.3.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ronald,

We have had no reports of issues specific to WP 4.3 when running the latest version of EE3.

Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend creating a full site backup before updating, this includes all files and the database.

One more thing. Are these the correct steps to take?

1. Back up all files and database
2. Update to the latest version of WP
3. Update to the latest version of EE3

Or should I do step 3 first and then step 2?

Please advise.

It should not make any difference although I would do Event Espresso updates first.

The only reason for this is EE3 now includes fixes for security patches made within WP. So if some reason you update WP, but then did not update EE3 you could end up with issues caused by using a version of EE3 that doesn’t include the updated fixes.

Basically longer event names, ticket names etc would cause a ‘blank’ update within the database because WordPress would strip out values. These rows then need to be manually removed.

Nothing major but an the above prevents that 🙂
