Editing Registration creates duplicate attendee record and presents payment

I’m using Event Espresso Version 3.1.31.1 and WordPress 3.5.1.

When people attempt to edit registration, not only does it create a duplicate record for that participant, but after clicking the update button, the confirm payment with Paypal is presented again which will likely result in attendees duplicating the actual event payment.

How is this resolved?

I read the support message below which appears to be a similar issue, but I did not see any resolution.

I cannot utilize this feature if it is actually designed to function like this.

I appreciate your help.
Thank you!

Hi Sarah,

I read through the post you linked to and the issues presented there about the edit registration link were resolved by updating to the latest version at the time. The other issue was about people hitting the back button while partway through the registration process.

Which issue are you referring to?

I did not hit the back button in the browser. Unfortunately – that’s not the issue. I am running the very latest release.

Status is this.

User receives confirmation email that has a link to update registration. Link takes them to the update page, they update content, and are then presented with the confirm registration button. Clicking that button results in the payment screen indicating that registration won’t be complete until payment is made (which it already has been received and confirmed).

Stopping at this screen and not going through with another paypal payment results in a duplicate registration for the participant, but indicates they haven’t completed payment.

Thoughts?
Thanks

Just FYI, this is *somewhat* related to the issue I was having with Paypal (see link below for details), but not completely.

https://eventespresso.com/topic/issue-with-paypal-standard-payments/

Just clicking the update registration no longer creates duplicate records, however, the page that is returned *after* the update button is pressed is the payment overview confirmation page which prompts the user with the following:
Your registration is not complete until payment is received.
Is there a way to redirect the participant to a different page after they have successfully registered and payment has been confirmed? I seems to me the participant should never again be presented with the “you still need to pay screen” after the transaction has been successfully processed.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
thanks,

Josh

Hi Sarah,

I can confirm the part about the edit details screen taking them to a payment page, even if they’ve already paid. Which shouldn’t be happening. I’ve raised a ticket for this.

I can’t seem to make the attendee record duplicate though.

Thanks Josh – I’ll await an update or a reply.

I’ve made a note to update this thread when this is fixed.
