Hi EE Support team,
I am using EE4 Version 4.6.19.p. Below are the few things with which i need your help in regards with confirmation email message (to receive by both admin and primary registrant):
1) Show Date and Time of Event Separately.
Right now Date and Time appear like this “April 24, 2015 11:00 AM – April 24, 2015 12:30 PM” (by short code [DATETIME_START] – [DATETIME_END])
– Is there a way to show Date and Time separately? like:
Event Date: April 24, 2015
Event Time: 11:00 Am – 12:30 PM
2) How to show Event Day? Like “Event Day: Monday”
3) In invoice, the registration date is shown on which user registered, how we show registration date in the confirmation email?
4) I am showing the primary registrant information inside the Event List. And do not want 2nd registrant’s Information in Attendee List. As i will get it by the question group made separately. I removed the Name code from the attendee list but in confirmation email the information is repeating, which i don’t want.
I only want to show no. of ticket purchase and question list, in attendee list.(see images below)
5) I want to show “Points To Note” for the event, but i don’t know why the text is moved down.(see images below)

Confirmation Message at backend: http://i.imgur.com/FXAoeqJ.jpg
Confirmation Message received via email: http://i.imgur.com/WvwT6sN.jpg

Thanks!
SuYuen.

Hi Su Yuen Chin, here is feedback on your questions.

The event datetimes shortcodes can’t currently be split up into multiple lines.

There isn’t a shortcode to show the event day.

The following shortcode can be used to show the primary registrant’s registration date:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_REGISTRATION_DATE]

The [ATTENDEE_LIST] shortcode shows information for all attendees.

The empty space that you are seeing is from where the social media buttons. Copy your information for Point to Notes to the higher area and then remove any extra spacing.

Hi there,
Thanks Lorenzo for the feedback. There is another issue i am facing with the confirmation email.
I have customize the default registration approved email message for the “primary registrant” and “admin”. Both will receive same message.
The issue is: when i do the ‘test send’ for primary registrant, it shows the ‘question list’ under “Child’s Detail” heading. Though the questions & answers are totally difference, not the one in the registration form.
But when i do the registration through the registration form, it doesn’t show the question list in confirmation email, which is in actual Child’s details (question group for additional registrant).

You can go to the website http://linode.mokomomo.com/fidgets/baking/
And check by doing registration for the baking class.
Parent’s Detail will be the Primary Registrant Information and Children will the additional registrants. So Parent’s detail will not repeat. Question group of “Child’s Detail” will repeat when you purchase more tickets.
I am not using [ATTENDEE_LIST] as it repeats the parent’s information.

You can see the short codes I am using here: http://i.imgur.com/YWJbY1c.jpg
And this is email confirmation message i received via test send:
http://i.imgur.com/yXFDNoq.jpg

Also, how do I achieve this in confirmation email for admin? Because the short code [RECIPIENT_QUESTION_LIST] cannot be used in “event_list” section of admin confirmation email message.

regards,
SuYuen.

Hello again,

The test email feature attempts to fill in some values but it will not have sample data for all questions so it would be better to test by sending a registration through the system even if that registration is free.

Then once you are ready and finished with testing, you can trash and permanently delete those test registrations.

Thanks

Hello Lorenzo,
I guess you didn’t understood my question. It doesn’t matter what questions the test email is showing, the point is that the test emails shows the questions. While the email confirmation received via doing registration through registration form on website does not shows the questions.

You can see the short codes I am using here: http://i.imgur.com/YWJbY1c.jpg

And this is email confirmation message i received via test send:
http://i.imgur.com/yXFDNoq.jpg

And this is email confirmation message i received via doing proper registration:
http://i.imgur.com/BiN1KZV.jpg

The short code used is [RECIPIENT_QUESTION_LIST]. When i remove this code. The questions do not show in the test email. And when i use the code, it shows questions. The code is working for the Test Send. Then why it is not working for email confirmation message received by doing proper registration.

Regards
SuYuen.

Hi SuYuen, the point that I was trying to make was that the test email option in the message editor does not provide a complete testing solution for customized emails. This is because we provide some sample data but its not possible to have sample data for every possible question that can be created.

For this reason, its better to test by completing an actual registration.

Your screenshots show that they are missing in the live registration so we can take a look at that.

Have you recently updated as your original post mentions an older release of Event Espresso 4? If not please update to the current release:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Let us know if that resolves the issue. Thanks!

Hi Lorenzo
To update EE4 to new version it says to put support license key. I have 2 keys. 1 is being used on a local host which i have removed. I put 2nd one into my website but it said that it is not valid. I tried putting the 1st one, it also said that its not valid.
I have also emailed on contact event espresso, along with my website admin login details.

kindly look into this.

Regards,
SuYuen.

Hi Su Yuen,

I’ve reset the support license key for you.

The other support license key that ends in _FREE is for the lite and decaf versions of Event Espresso so they would not work for the regular versions.

Thanks

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks, license key working now, updated EE4 as well. Still the issue is not resolved.
I have send the website login credentials earlier via email to you. Can you look into the email confirmation message and let me know how question list can appear?

Also, I am using EE4 on my other website as well, Can i use this license key on that website to update it?

regards,
Su Yuen.

Hi, the [RECIPIENT_QUESTION_LIST] is available in the registrant message type for registration approved.

If you are editing the event admin context for the registration approved message type, then you won’t be able to use that shortcode since this context is different.

Could you use the [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_QUESTION_LIST] shortcode instead?

If that won’t work, then you may need to reconsider using the [ATTENDEE_LIST] shortcode which allows the Questions and Answers shortcodes.

Hi Lorenzo,

Yes i know [RECIPIENT_QUESTION_LIST] won’t work for the event admin, but its also not working for the registrant email and same goes for the [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_QUESTION_LIST]. So I used [ATTENDEE_LIST] shortcode instead. And now the child’s detail is showing.

There is another thing i want to ask:
In the registration form which i have, “Parent’s detail” is the primary registrant information, which is under “Attendee 1”. Can we remove the parent’s detail from “Attendde 1” and instead make “Child 1 detail” come under attendee 1? with parent’s detail still remain on the form.

I am trying to replicate this form http://www.fidgets.com.sg/baking-register.aspx?id=494&tid=938
As you can see when we increase no. of children, we get more information boxes for child 1, child 2 detail etc. Is there a way to show “number increase” in the heading on the registration form like that?

Also, when we select 3 tickets, 1 is for parent and 2 for kids. I don’t want to register the parent. The baking classes are for kids, so i want only kids to register. But want to have Parent’s information on the form as well. Is there a way that in event we can only make child register not the parent(which is primary registrant as of now). I checked that this question group cannot be removed as it is built-in in EE4.
But is there a way i can achieve what i am asking?
Kindly help.

regards
SuYuen.

Hi SuYuen, the primary attendee/registrant will be the first person that is registered. You could start by registering a child but keep in mind that Event Espresso requires at least a name and an email address to process a transaction.

The number of registrants are based on the number of tickets / pricing options that are selected and that can’t be changed via registration checkout. It would need to be selected from the single event page via the ticket / pricing option selector.

Have you seen this idea for handling parent + child registrations?
