I have read several article regarding the Registration Checkout page, but haven’t figured out a solution similar to ours. Our event attendees are 60 years or older and not very tech savvy so we are trying to help them navigate the registration process.

Is there a way to add “NEW USERS,” to the second sentenance. NEW USERS, You can register for an account here…

And add: RETURNING USERS: just above the Username and password fields?

Lastly, small edit, edit “return to Event Cart” to say “Return to Event Cart”

Thanks,

Hi there,

The text string you’re looking to change is this one:

The event you have selected requires logging in before you can register. You can %sregister for an account here%s if you don\'t have a login.

You can use a translation function to change it to be something like this:
The event you have selected requires logging in before you can register. <strong>New Users</strong> you can %sregister for an account here%s if you don\'t have a login. <h3>Returning Users</h3>

Please see this guide for more information about how to set up a translation function:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/#custom_function

There is additional documentation on how to use a filter function to change the text in the cart buttons in the Multi Event Registration wiki:

there is not a wp-content/uploads/espresso/”languages” folder so I added the folder and uploaded the edited po file,

ALSO: and there is not a define(‘WPLANG’, ‘US’); in wp-config, so I just added it

Nothing changed on the registraion check out form. Any ideas?

You’ll need to follow the steps under “Changing text strings by using a plugin or a custom function”. The custom function part is the one that will let you programmatically change the text strings without making edits to po files.

Which by the way, your site doesn’t read the .po file. It reads the .mo file.

Sorry, this is WAY outside my comfort level. Can I pay someone to make these edits?

Hi,

Are these the messaging changes that you need?

The event you have selected requires logging in before you can register. You can %sregister for an account here%s if you don\’t have a login. –> The event you have selected requires logging in before you can register. New Users you can %sregister for an account here%s if you don\’t have a login.

Returning Users

Also, Returning Users should appear just above the login form?

Was there anything else that you wanted to change?

Yes, that and the “Return to Event Cart” rather than “return to Event Cart”

Hi,

Upload and activate this site specific plugin to your WP site and that should change the messaging:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘t’ (T_STRING), expecting ‘)’ in /home/seniorsfound/public_html/wp-content/plugins/site-specific-plugin-tsc.php_/site-specific-plugin-tsc.php on line 11
