Hi guys, I’m having the same issue as the guy in this email.

https://eventespresso.com/topic/duplicate-payment-received-emails/

I have followed the steps from several posts to try and stop it:
1) Added exceptions to all critical pages in wt3 Cache and CloudFlare settings
2) ensured our Company email was correct.

We use both Auth SIM and Paypal and get double payment emails about 1 hour apart from each other. We do not however get double payment emails from Auth AIM. However, we’d much prefer to use SIM as it relieves us of some of the PCI liability. We do not get double registration approved emails.

Event Espresso Version 4.9.21
EE User Plugin Version 2.0.13
Wordpress Version 4.6.1

Any known issues or ideas of how to stop it? I feel it’s unprofessional and makes them question if they’re being billed twice especially because there is time between.

Thanks.

Hi there,

So to confirm, for a single registration using either Auth SIM or PayPal Standard you receive single additional payment received email once, roughly 1 hour after the payment was made?

Is it only the payment received email or the other registration emails? (Registration Approved for example)

Hi Tony, exactly, for example. Client A and Admin both received payment Received emails at 9:50 am, at 10:40 am today Client A and Admin both received additional payment emails.

It is only for the payment email and is not happening with the registration approved email or any other.

I use Mandrill to send my wordpress emails and not the WP Email client.

Hi there,

Do you have the Messages > Settings option set to send emails on the same request or on a separate request? If the latter, can you try setting the option to send on the same request?

Hi Josh, I did have it on separate emails. I just changed it. Let me test it for a day or so and I’ll write back with the results. That ok?

That’s fine 🙂

Hi Tony, duplicate emails were sent out today to both the ADMIN and the User at 11:22 and 11:46 pm. settings are for emails “on same request”.

Any other things to try?

I ran some testing using offsite payment methods (auth.net SIM, PayPal Standard, iDeal Mollie etc) but could not trigger multiple payment received emails.

Hmm if you look within the message activity log (Event Espresso -> Messages), do you see multiples of the payment reminder there?

Yes. I see them sending duplicates still in the message activity page. Lorenzo thought it was caching of WT3 or Cloudflare, but we’ve turned caching completely off for right now and have added the page exceptions to all the event espresso pages.

You mentioned you turned caching completely off for now. Was that by means of deactivating the caching plugin or by disabling each of the caching options on the main W3 Total Cache settings page?

Good question. WT3 is deactivate and Cloudflare is in development mode.

What may be happening is some of the cached files are still being served. W3 Total cache can continue to function even if the plugin is deactivated. To ensure that caching is truly disabled, you can reactivate the W3 Total cache plugin, then go to its main settings page and disable each of the caching options there.
