Our client is saying that they are getting 2 registration confirmations and 2 payment confirmations (duplicates). I am not seeing duplicate messages setup. Is there a common thing that would cause this in our setup? Looking at recipients I only see Event Admin | Primary Registrant.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for describing the issue clearly.

Have there been any recent changes to the message templates?

For example, if you go to Event Espresso –> Messages. Then look for Registration approved or payment received and click on Event Admin, then do you see a single shortcode in the TO field for the event author?

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for helping.

It only lists one in the Event Admin template: http://prntscr.com/afaeq6

Hello, that shortcode will go to the email address that is set in Event Espresso –> General Settings.

Is the email there on the general settings page a real email address or is a an email forwarder?

I checked and we do have a real and valid email address in the Primary Contact Email field

Hi, could you provide a link to one of the events on the site?

Also, who is the hosting provider?

Are the duplicate emails sent together or is there a delay between the two sets of roughly 1 hour?

Yes, there is a delay of about that.

Do you have an idea on how I can fix this?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi there,

So far I’ve not been able to reproduce this and I suspect is an issue related to Mijireh live with Payeezy and Mijireh Sandbox (which we use for testing).

The delay of 1 hour is important in tracking this down because with Mijireh (and other offsite payment methods) when the user selects the payment method, EE setups up a cron job to run when the users session expires (by default 1 hour).

The cron job basically just checks the transaction to see if it has an Approved payment within it and if the registration has not been finialized, it will do so. With Mijireh its a little different in that they do not send IPN’s to your site (like PayPal would) meaning EE has to check itself if a payment has been made by pinging Mijireh. It does this when the user returns from Mijireh and when the cron mentioned above runs.

So it sounds like on your site the notifications are triggered when the user returns to the site, but also when the cron is running (even though the registration has been Approved) this is not happening on my test sites so it’s a little strange.

Have you made any customizations to Event Espresso files? Or hooking into EE at all to add/alter functionality?

When a payment is made within Mijrieh, if you looks at the Registration and Transaction between the session has expired (so less than an hour after the payment was made) does it show the Registration as ‘Approved’ and does the Transaction show an ‘Approved’ payment?
