Have a dev site and a live site. I need to test the updates before moving to production. I though I could request a reset after I ran the updates on dev. I never was able to run updates on dev, and now it seems i cant even add the license to the production site without paying an extra dollar?
How would you suggest I run test updates on my dev server?
I’ve reset your license key. Please remove your license key from the General Settings page of Event Espresso and save the form blank without a license key. Then re-enter your license key again which should enable the new domain and/or one-click upgrades.
I would recommend deciding where you want one-click updates, either live or dev (I suggest dev site) so you can test changes and push to live.
Dan, Its active on the live site, although I really need to run updates on the dev server first. I entered c04538e9f64f1aff78129dd714f05605_FREE into the dev server at dental.bbdg.net and its not activating the updates. Please help, I dont feel safe running the update on the production server without first testing it on the dev server. Can you copy joel@blackbeardesign.com
Right, the license key is only going to be good on one site, either the live site or the dev site. We can reset the key for you every once in a while, but we can’t really reset it for every customer for every update. It’s just not practical.
You can always do the update on the dev site manually, by downloading the new version from your account page, deactivate EE, update the files, then reactivate.
