Hello!

Can someone verify that Event Espresso 4 doesn’t use/require the exec() / exec.php or url_fopen functions? We want to move our website to a host that has disabled them for security reasons.

Thanks for your help!

Pam

Hi Pam,

The function url_fopen you may be referring to allow_url_fopen which is used. The function exec is used by dompdf (https://github.com/dompdf/dompdf) which is a library that converts html to PDF files.

Specifically, dompdf is used by the invoice payment gateway so if you won’t be using it, then dompdf won’t be an issue on your new host.
