disallow registering once ticket max# is reached

I have one event (Conference) and multiple tickets each with a different maximum. The order maximum is set to 6.

As a test I set F. Official Conference Welcome Reception ticket to a maximum quantity of 1. But I’ve now registered 4 different test users. Have I missed something about max users.

I really just want to set the order max to 6 and limit the drop-down options next to each type to 0 or 1. Help?
