Deleted locked question

Hi there,

I deleted a system question ‘last name’ not long ago as we didn’t need it at the time, however now we do. I’ve recreated the question and locked in so it now tells me it a system question.

The problem is that when I add a new attendee to an event in event overview it will prompt me for the attendee’s last name, even though all fields have been filled. I am using the latest EE.

Is there a way to fix this without loosing all the event data or re-installing? People are currently registering to the event online so pulling it offline is not a possibility.

Hi Andy,

How did you delete the question? They can only be deleted by editing the database directly.

Did you just remove the question from the question group?

Did you just rename the question to something else?

Adding a new question wont work because the system is looking for a specific ID, which will have now changed.

Hi Dean,

Someone clicked on the question from the questions list (not questions groups) and down the bottom of the page where the options say “check all – delete question, add new question, question groups, help” they clicked “Delete” and it was gone, even though it had a lock next to it.

I am just unsure of how to re-map the system id to the question.

I saw in another thread that you said you had to change it in the database – https://eventespresso.com/topic/deleted-locked-email-in-questions/

But I have no idea where to find this or how to access it.

Hi,

That should be impossible, what version of EE are you using?

Regarding re-mapping it, a plugin like Adminer can assist but if you do not know what you are doing you could cause additional problems (Adminer accesses the database directly, so in theory you remove necessary data)

Hi Dean,

I can’t seem to get that plugin to work. Is there another way?

Hi,

If you are struggling with Adminer, then you could use PHPMyAdmin, whihc would be located in your hosting cPanel. If you are not using cPanel (e.g. Plesk) you may need to refer to your host to find/get access to PHPMyAdmin.

As always BACK UP your database before doing anything, and if you are not sure, seek a professional web developers assistance.
