Datetimes dissappeared from two events

Hi,

A strange thing happened to our website. We defined some new datetimes for two of our events, then defined tickets and everything else. We then checked and everything worked well. Today when I tried to see how registration works, I’ve found that for both events the new datetimes/tickets are no longer in EE.
We use BackupBuddy on our website so we have some backups of our database and also some full website backups. However, I don’t want to do a full website backup if there’s a way to restore only EE related files / tables.
Please let me know which files / tables from the database I have to restore in order to get those datetimess/tickets back.

Hi Emil,

Before you go and try restoring the database tables, you can check to see if the datetimes are still in the current database or not. They might be there still. Datetimes are stored in the _esp_datetime table. Ticket information is stored in the _esp_datetime_ticket, _esp_ticket, _esp_ticket_price, and _esp_price tables.

Hi Josh,
I checked the tables you mentioned, but I can’t find nor the new datetimes nor the tickets/prices. Can you tell me how to fix this? And how in the first place this kind of thing happens? What could cause it?

Hi Emil,

If they’re not in the database, then they may have been deleted somewhere along the way. You could compare your database backup to see if they are in there. The simplest way to fix this is add them back in through the EE editor. Adding them back via the database is usually fraught with peril.

Hi Josh,
I understand. Still, there is the problem that I have not touched that website after saving and checking those datetimes. How can something be deleted from the database without anybody working on the website? This is very annoying and worrying for me. What can cause such a behaviour? I have to know because I want to do something to fix it.

Hi Emil,
The first thing to look for is if they’re in the database backup, are they in there? The other thing to check for is if the host did any work on the site at the time between the time you added the datetimes and the time they disappeared.
