I’m currently running WordPress 4.1, and using:
Event Espresso Version 4.6.4.p
Event Espresso – Calendar (EE 4.3+) Version 3.2.1.p
Event Espresso – Events Table View Template (EE4.4.9+) Version 1.3.2.p
Event Espresso – Grid View Template (EE4.4.9+) Version 1.2.2.p

My theme is a child theme of Genesis, and I created a new single-espresso_events.php file using the instructions here:
https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/b0334e81ea826e3853f1

Right now, my page layout displays the featured image, followed by the event title, ticket information, date/time, and then description.

I’d really like to change the layout a bit so that the information flows a bit better, and the display looks a bit nicer…

I’d like the display to have the featured image left-aligned, and to the right of the image, I’d like the event title and date/time information.

After that, I’d like the ticket information to display, followed by the event details/description…

I’m not sure how to modify the file (or even what file I should be modifying) to update the layout to move these elements around…

Thanks for your help!

Hi, that would require some customizations via CSS and possibly some additional template files. We would not be able to provide a ready to go solution but we could provide some tips on getting started.

Have you used a tool like Chrome developer tools or Firebug before?

Some tips on getting started would be extremely helpful… I am comfortable with CSS modifications and the like, I just don’t know what file to be editing, and I don’t know the calls/definitions of the various pieces that I want to plug in.

What is the root file that is handling the order that these pieces are pulling in? From there, I am comfortable with creating a custom page name and editing the position of those fields in the file, and then creating css layout definitions… I just don’t know where to start.

Sorry for the delay. Here are some links that may help:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-themes-templates/
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/hide-certain-elements-event-espresso-pages-using-css/

I hope these help, other than that, it’s very similar to customizing a WordPress theme.
