We had some questions about EE before purchasing the developers edition for a project we are working on.

We want to create a members only site which has various trainings with one or more speakers. Members should be able to register for these trainings from there members only portal. Trainings should not be visible if not logged in.

In basic most functions we are looking for are possible in EE, we assume that a members only site should not be a problem?

The following questions we have not been able to answer after checking the demo, reading the info online or browsing the forum.

  1. Is it possible to customize the backend in such a way that we limit or remove various unneeded options from the menu and only show what is needed for the person which will be creating the events?
  2. a) Is it possible to create a view, filter or report showing which trainings have been given over a certain period (from xx – to yy) by a specific speaker?
    b) And also show how many attendees there were at various trainings?
c)If not is EE customizable enough so we can easily program and add these functions ourselves?
  3. Is it possible to create a printable overview of an upcoming / closed event with information about who will be attending which is a bit more user friendly than the Excel export?
  4. Last question we have, is it possible to easily send an e-mail to all registered users with information about upcoming events made in EE?

Regards,

Omar

Hi,

1) Yes with Roles and Permissions Pro (Basic is also required) you can give users rights and permissions to access Event Espresso and then only certain parts of Event Espresso. The plugin does not control menu access outside of the plugin menus.

2) a) Not currently no.
b) Yes, you can see the number of attendees easily via the event overview screen and you can download a CSV file with their details.
c) Event Espresso can be customised if you have php, hmtl/css and jquery knowledge. The number of action hooks and filters is currently limited. With the next evolution of Event Espresso we hope to have vastly more hooks available.

3) Well there is nothing default. You could add the [LISTATTENDEES event_identifier=”event-venue-1-513d99f32be4a”] shortcode to a private page and print that off though.

4) You can only email attendees individually (via the payment reminder) or email all the attendees per event, you cannot email every attendee in the system. We do have the Mailchimp add on that can help create a list, but inclusion is user dependant. Or you could export all the attendees and import the emails into a mailing list via Mailchimp or Aweber etc.
