Hi We’ve been working on an invoice for customers but can’t get there address to show. Hopefully it’s just a case of adding the right short code. Please can you advise Thanks Chris |
Hi Chris, By default within the ‘Bill To’ section, the Invoice uses these shortcodes: [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FNAME] [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_LNAME] Sounds like you have modified the template but if you include those shortcodes within the ‘Main Content’ section it should work. |
Hi Tony Thanks we’ll give this a go. All the best Chris |
You’re most welcome, Chris. Please do let us know if you get this working. |
Hi Tony Here is what we have, which has all these shortcodes, which uses all the shortcodes you sent. Do you have any ideas why it’s not working? There is a login to the site via the support ticket I submitted. Thanks Chris <div class=”fn”>[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FNAME] [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_LNAME]</div> |

Hi Chris, I checked on your event and you currently do not request Address Information from your attendees to have this displayed within the Invoice. If you edit the event, look within the sidebar and you’ll find a section to select the question groups for your Primary Registrant and any Additional Registrant, you need the Address Information question group selected for the Primary Registrant – http://take.ms/wuG1B I have enabled that on your event now, so if you run a registration the address questions will be requested and included on the invoice. The reg form will look like this – http://take.ms/zPeUM The invoice like this – http://take.ms/mUC0H Is that what you are looking for? |
Hi Tony Yes, this is much better thanks. Can we add other fields too? I’m not sure if it’s related but the registration has started breaking, displaying incorrectly and coming up with an error message saying: ‘An error has occurred: Do you have any ideas? Thanks Chris |
Yes you can add multiple custom questions and question groups within the registration form. If you go to Event Espresso -> Registration Form. You can create both questions and question groups there. Are you wanting to add different address questions or other question types?
Your home page has a ticket selector added to it, but is not secured using HTTPS. If you want to use the ticket selector on the home page you’ll need to secure that too. That error can also be caused by caching, does your host run server side caching? |
Hi Tony Here’s what the client is after for registration: ‘Data Capture First name Obviously the cardholder needs to put billing address in, which may be different to the above.’ Regarding the broken page, I’ve deleted the homepage as the theme works off widgets to populate it. I’ll have to ask the them developers what they suggest. The broken page only seems to be happening in Chrome, I’ve cleared all cache and browsing data. Thanks Chris |
Hi Tony It’s also broken in Safari… https://www.thenegotiatorconference.co.uk/events/the-negotiator-conference-and-expo-2015/ I’ve tried turning all the plugins off and it still does it. Thanks Chris |

Each of those additional questions can be added to the Personal Information group. You add custom question within Event Espresso -> Registration Form. You can add new custom questions within that section. Then when you have added the questions you can edit the Personal Information question group by clicking the Question Groups tab, clicking the group and selecting which questions should be within that group. However I have a question regarding this:
Right now the billing address is taken from the Payment form at the end of the registration, however that is only used by the payment gateway for the transaction. EE will use the Address Details provided within the registration form at the beginning. Do you need the registration details on the invoice to be different from the payee details?
Is happening because the session is starting on HTTP, then switching to HTTPS it start a new session. Once solution is to run the whole site via HTTPS rather than only specific pages, would that work for you? |
Hi Tony Thanks for this. We’ve adjusted. The forms, all good, the client is very happy. Are we able to auto fill selected areas on multiple bookings? i.e. so email addresses have to be individually filled in. I’ve put the whole site under https as you suggested. It’s just the homepage now that needs a little more attention. The registration pages are all secure. Thanks for your help All the best Chris |
You’re most welcome, Chris.
Do you mean so email address don’t have to be entered for each attendee, but just the other details from the Personal Info group? Currently its not possible to just exclude the email address. You can specify specific groups for either your Primary Registrant and Additional Registrants. But not specific questions within the Personal Info group. |
Hi Tony This my client’s response: ‘We aren’t looking to exclude the email address for secondary registrants, but to have the facility (on autofill) for that not to be autofilled, but manually filled with the secondary registrant’s email (and name, job title), so he may be sent his own personalised ticket directly. As it stands, the primary registrant’s details are autofilled, and then the primary registrant must overwrite his details with the secondary registrant’s details (name, title, email).’ Is this possible? Thanks Chris |
Hi Chris, The auto fill option will copy from the primary registrant. It will currently copy everything so it can’t be set to only copy certain fields. — |

Hi Lorenzo Thanks for letting me know. I have let my client know. All the best Chris |
