Hi guys,

I’ms sure I followed the steps here – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-create-a-custom-message-template/. Pretty straight forward.

I’d like my custom template to be used for all Registration Approved emails. Is there an options for that?

I created a custom template – https://www.dropbox.com/s/9i4nt9upx6s5lh9/Screenshot%202017-07-10%2021.14.41.png?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mk4i7qs5v9skiim/Screenshot%202017-07-10%2021.15.28.png?dl=0

I went to a single event to choose the template, but am not given the option. Screenshot – https://www.dropbox.com/s/a5uierb0supteqc/Screenshot%202017-07-10%2021.13.00.png?dl=0

Not sure how I get the custom template in action…

Appreciate the help.. Thanks, Derek

Hi Derek,

I’d like my custom template to be used for all Registration Approved emails. Is there an options for that?

You want the custom template to be the default template used on all events?

If so you simply edit the Default Message Template -> Registration Approved template rather than creating a custom template.

Custom templates need to be selected per event, the default message template is the one used by default across all events on your site.

I went to a single event to choose the template, but am not given the option. Screenshot

If you open the dropdown for the Registration Approved template can you not select the custom template, in your screenshot it would be ‘Registration Approved – Custom’

Hi Tony,

Understood. I created the custom template and edited them, but assumed they overrode the default ones. I have not edited the default templates. Which is great for now.

But when I select the drop down in the event, the only selection is ‘Global’. See https://www.dropbox.com/s/d8bo70ajy8omhk3/Screenshot%202017-07-12%2020.49.25.png?dl=0

Thanks, Derek

Hmm, are you logged in as an admin with full caps?

On that last screenshot, click the ‘Create new custom’ button on another template, for example the Not Approved registration template.

It will open up a new tab and you can create a custom Not Approved template. Give it a name you can spot easily and save.

Now see if you can select that template within the event (you may need to refresh the event editor for it to show).

Hi Tony, that seemed to work… I can’t ‘create new custom’ for registration approved though, the button doesn’t exist.

As far as I recall, I’ve only ever used the 1 admin account.

Yeah I saw in your previous screenshot, I just wanted to make sure you could create and use custom templates to confirm your site could access the message templates correctly.

There’s a couple of reason that button is removed but it’s most likely that your default template is set to override custom templates.

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates -> Registration Approved (or click the edit button for reg approved in the screenshot above).

In the Update actions section make sure the ‘Override all custom’ option is UNchecked and update the template – http://take.ms/K6Uln
