Are there clear instruction on how to create a custom confirmation message to the recipient and to the instructor. I have looked in the message section of EE but I’m not having any luck. I want to make sure the recipient and instructor both receive an email. I would also like to send out a reminder email 2 days before. Thank you

Hi there,

When you say you’re not having any luck, can you provide further details?

You can find documentation on working with the messages system here:

https://eventespresso.com/section/messages-system/

By ‘confirmation’ email I’m assuming you mean the email sent when the user’s registration has been successfully paid for? (Or just completed if a free ticket)

If so that’s the ‘Registration Approved’ message type.

Do you want a custom message for a specific event or do you want to customize the template that is used for all of your events?

In my opinion your documentation is not very clear.

I would like to create custom messages when someone registers for an event.

I want one to go to the instructor and one to go to the person who registered.

Also, I only want the venue location to be seen on the event confirmation email.

I have looked to find answers on your documentation and have had no luck. I hope that makes sense.

In my opinion your documentation is not very clear.

If you let me know what isn’t clear I’ll look into getting that fixed/updated.

I would like to create custom messages when someone registers for an event.

Ok, so only when someone has completed the registration and paid in full or do you offer offline payments using (for example) the Invoice payment method?

The ‘confirmation message’ I’m assuming means the message sent when payment is made (or registration is complete on a free ticket) which would be the Registration Approved message, if so you’ll need a custom Registration Approved message template.

But, do you want a custom message for a specific event or do you want to customize the template that is used for all of your events?

You can edit the default template that is used by all events, or you can create a custom message template that is used for specific events, I can guide you on where to go but it depends on the specific setup you are looking for.

We are using EE to register people for classes. There is a $75 registration fee for each class but that money is collected the day of the class.

So when someone registers for a class I want the person teaching the class to receive an email with the person’s registrations information. I also want the person who registered for the class to receive a confirmation email with the details of their registration and class information.

I would like to use a custom message or we can create a custom template with the class details.

Does that make sense. I want this to be very easy to replicate. The problem is I don’t understand the how to craft a message with text and shortcodes. I would like to see detailed documentation.

I also don’t understand how to edit the template. I would like to see detailed documentation

I only want to show the venue on the confirmation emails.

I hope that make sense

Hi SummitWebAdventures,

Can you go to Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates, then open one of the templates you want to edit? There will be an “Edit” link within each of the listed templates there. You’ll be editing the Registration Approved message type. You can click on the “Event Admin” link to edit the message the person teaching the class will get. You can click on the “Registrant” link to edit the message for the registrant.

If you want to use a custom message, you’ll instead click on the “Create Custom” button.

Once you’ve opened a template to edit it, there’s a help section available that’s specifically written for that specific message context. You can review that documentation by clicking on the Help tab located on the upper right corner of the browser window. The documentation is organized into 5 sections:

Message Template Editor
Message Templates
Message Shortcodes
Message Preview
Messages Other

I hope that helps!
