credit cards not able to process

Credit card processing was working fine, we haven’t changed anything and now it’s not credit card processing isn’t working. Here’s the error message that is generated:

Attention: your transaction was declined for the following reason(s):
This transaction cannot be accepted.
Response Code: 3
Response Subcode: 1

I talked with authorize.net and they said everything is fine on their end.

How do I fix this?

Hi Lara,

Which version of the auth.net payment method are you using?

I tried running a test registration on the site to see if I could view the error however it looks like all gateways are currently disabled on your site, can you re-enable the gateway so I can take a look?

I generated a new transaction key for authorize.net and it seems to have done the trick.

On another note… Authorize.net is disabling TLS 1.0 and 1.1 at the end of the month. Is Event Espresso EE3 compatible with TLS 1.2? Do I need to do anything to transition to the new version on my site?

Yes, EE3 just uses whatever is available on your server so you’ll need to contact your host and have them confirm they have updated the server to be compatible with TLS1.2.
