Credit Card Type Dropdown – No Fields?

Hello,
I am new to EE and am setting up my first forms. When testing it, I got to the checkout page and the “Credit Card Type” dropdown box is empty, there is noting to choose. And since it is a Required Field, I cannt advacne past that.

I do not see where I can enter any data that may populate these fields .. or how to make it not required. Can anyone help?

Hi Allen,

I checked your site and it looks like you’ve got the PayPal Pro payment method activated. Can you go to the Event Espresso > Payment Methods page on your site, then click on PayPal Pro, then check the boxes next to the card types that can be used? Your PayPal Pro account settings may not allow for all of the options to be selected (for example some accounts cannot accept American Express). More info here:

Hello Josh, and thanks for helping..

I am actually using the PayPal Express option, and when I go to settings, there is no area to choose the types of cards accepted…

What made you think I am using PayPal Pro? Maybe I have something configured wrong so the site thinks I am using Pro?

You have the PayPal Pro gateway activated at the moment and that’s where the “Credit Card Type” dropdown box is coming from, so you can deactivate the PayPal Pro payment method on the Event Espresso > Payment Methods page.

The PayPal Express gateway does not include a “Credit Card Type” dropdown box.

Ohhh… I see now. I didn’t realize the “De-Activate” was way down at the bottom of the page … Got it, and appears to be working now

One more question: Is there a way to format the Confirmation email I receive? I haven’t researched this yet, so sorry if this is a dumb question.

You can change the emails in their template editor, which is found on the Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates page.

It will help to get familiar with the Messages system since there are shortcodes, contexts, and message types involved with editing email message templates. Here are some links to its documentation:
