Hello,
At Event Espresso, we recommend using a transactional email service to help ensure that your emails from your WordPress site are delivered to the email inbox instead of arriving to the spam/junk mail folder or not being delivered at all.
One of the popular transactional email service that was previously recommended was Mandrill.
There are some major changes coming to Mandrill on April 27, 2016:
- Mandrill is being merged into MailChimp so a MailChimp account will be required (already done by MailChimp for new accounts)
- Mandrill will be a paid add-on for a paid MailChimp account (already done by MailChimp for new accounts)
- The Mandrill paid add-on for MailChimp will only send email from web domains with valid SPF and DKIM records
We recommend taking action today if you are currently using Mandrill to ensure that your WordPress site can still send emails after April 27, 2016.
Can I continue to use Mandrill?
If you would like to continue using Mandrill, then go ahead and merge your Mandrill account into MailChimp. MailChimp has sent out a notification email with steps on making this change. You can also view this blog post for more information:
http://blog.mandrill.com/important-changes-to-mandrill.html
If you are not sure about something, then reach out to the support team at MailChimp as they will be able to clarify any account questions for you.
Switch to an alternative transactional email service
We explain how Event Espresso handles email notifications here:

That article also includes alternatives for MailChimp such as SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark app, and more.
