When either of these plugins are enabled (newest versions of both) the administration page for Events doesn’t work. Specifically the date picker and the visual / text editor is blank. I’m seeing the footer is gone as well.

EE version 4.4.8.p
(I’m waiting until the bugs get worked out of the newest version)
Calendar Addon for EE – Version 3.2.1.p
WordPress 4.1

ManageWP 4.0.5
Yoast SEO – Version 1.7.1

Not sure if this is related but one click updates are not working either. If I click on “update now” on the plugin page it says “downloading update” > “unpacking update” and it stalls there.

All the links for EE4’s listing (“view details”, ” View version 4.6.0.p details”,etc) on the plugin page all don’t work and give this error “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

Hi there,

I loaded up the two plugins that you reported about and I’m not seeing any issues with Event Espresso 4.4 or 4.6. Can you check the web developer console for JavaScript errors?

This is the only error I’m seeing:

Timestamp: 2/5/2015 3:08:06 PM
Error: TypeError: document.getElementById(…) is null
Source File: chrome://web-developer/content/overlay/javascript/overlay.js
Line: 7333

When I have both of those plugins enabled the full text / visual editor and below is all blank.

You might try the three plugins activated with a different theme active.

I can try it during off hours to see if that’s the case but since it’s live it can only be done late at night which is really inconvenient. It’s strange it’s only on the individual edit Events page and only when these plugins are enabled… If it was the theme I’d expect it to be happening all the time not just when these specific, very popular plugins are enabled.

If it happened on my site I’d be able to confirm that it’s not a theme issue, but it doesn’t.

Did you know there’s a plugin that allows you to change the theme for the admin only? It’s called the theme test drive plugin

Along with that, most WP developers set up a dev site that’s exactly the same as their live site so they can test updates and different plugins, changes, etc, before going live. You might consider doing the same to avoid having to test things out late at night.
