Doing a test send of a custom message template generates the list of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, etc, but it seems that the actual confirmation emails sent to Primary Registrants who buy more than one ticket do not have all the ticket codes. in Event List section: then in Attendee List: |

OK, after reading through another forum question (https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-message-template-recipients/), it seems that I didn’t even have the Primary Recipient context active (it was grayed-out). A few months ago we suddenly stopped receiving registration confirmation emails sent to admin and one of the things I tried was having nothing in the To: field. I’m still not sure what fixed it but perhaps the Primary Reg. got changed in those experiments. I still have not found a way to resend that type of message – one with all the ticket codes. Every way I have tried resending registration only sends the Primary Reg’s ticket code. Even using the “Resend Registration” button next to an attendee with a different ticket code sends the same thing – with the exception of if the attendee’s email address is different from the Primary’s. Currently looks like I’ll have to manually copy ticket codes and email them to Primary Registrants who used their details for multiple ticket purchases. Any other ideas to try? |
Hi Ross, The using the Resend Registration button the messages system uses that registration for the Registrant context and sends that message, the reason for this is each registration would be considered individual when resending. However there is also logic within the messages system that checks if the Primary registrant details was used for all registrations and only sends the message to the Primary registrant. Ultimately its to try and reduce the amount of what may seem like duplicate emails send to the primary registrant. It is possible to alter the registrant message context to send all the details for all tickets each time if that would help? That way the primary registrant will receive all of the details. It will involve creating a custom message template and altering the shortcodes in use but I can provide some details if that will work? |
