Change Paypal "Paid to" email address after checkout

When I have auto return turned off, the “Thank you for your order” page shows my company name and a different email than what I have in paypal. Paypal says its the third party code. When I turn auto return on, I get the payment incomplete status.

I changed over to a new paypal account and made the appropriate changes in EE. Everything worked fine before the change.

For the quicker fix, can you tell me how to change the email address that shows in the customer checkout? Where is it pulling it from?

Thanks.

Hi,

Have you checked the PayPal settings under Payment Settings page? That’s where the PayPal email is set.

Yes I have. Anywhere else it’d pull the email from? Ut

No, for standard paypal, we only send the buisness id. We first check for ‘paypal_email’ in the event meta, so that you can set paypal credentials on a per-event basis, and if it isn’t found, we use the email set in the paypal settings.

You can determine exactly what EE is sending to paypal by using Chome’s element inspector, or Firefox’s firebug, to inspect the paypal button on the payment page. You should see all the hidden fields that are being sent. The seller’s email that is being sent has a name of ‘buisness’. If that is not the email that shows on the receipt page, then it is probably a setting in your paypal account.
You can also see what EE is sending to paypal by turning on the ‘sandbox’ mode in the EE paypal settings, but if you are using live credentials instead of sandbox credentials, then it will fail when you hit the paypal button. But you could turn on sandbox mode and do a test registration up to the payment page in order to see the debug output and determine if the email on the receipt page is being sent by EE.
