CC payment invoice/reminder to admin

Hello,

The following two threads also ask this question, but an adequate solution was never posted.

How do you get a copy or proof of the payment invoice/reminder that can be sent to a registrant? It is very important to have these to prove later that one has sent an invoice to people who are having problems. I have worked as an admin for a long time, and believe me, with some people, you absolutely NEED to be able to back up and provide proof of every email sent to those people.

I checked the “solution” mentioned in the second thread: that there is a an option in the individual events explained thus: “Admin email notifications wil be sent to this address instead.” What does that mean, “instead”? Instead of what, the default contact emails entered under General Settings? I get registration notifications to my admin address, but would this allow me to get a notification that an invoice was sent if I add my admin address here? I am using EE3, since the event ends in August (since the even is in August, the registration is heating up and so the percentage of people who are having trouble registering — as there always will be — has gone up). Has this been addressed in EE4?

Hi Carolyn,

A link to download the invoice is included in the admin notification email that’s automatically sent to the contact email address set in Event Espresso > General Settings. The “Admin email notifications will be sent to this address instead.” option you asked about allows you to send the same admin notifications to additional recipients. It’s not the same email that gets sent to attendees though.

If you would like to get a carbon copy of the registration confirmation that gets sent out to the attendees in addition to the admin notification I have a few suggestions:

1) Free option: Use a gmail (or other SMTP account that stores sent mail) to send out your WordPress site’s email. The WordPress SMTP plugin can be configured to send email out this way. This way you can retrieve any sent mail from your gmail account.

2) The $15 option: Use the Forward Email add-on that works with the email log plugin:

Thanks Josh! I did in fact already have it configured to send from an SMTP account, so I can look up the sent emails. *doh*
