For the last few days, none of our customers have been able to book, citing issues with the captcha/spam test. I’ve just logged out and tried to book and it says ‘error for site owner: invalid site key’ in the captcha box and when you try to proceed it says ‘please complete the anti-spam test before proceeding’.
I’ve noticed our Akismet Anti-Spam and ReCaptcha plug ins are deactivated, could that be the problem?

The problem would not be because Akismet Anti-Spam and ReCaptcha plugins are deactivated. The error message says the site key is invalid. You can fix this by going to your site’s Event Espresso > Registration Form > Reg Form Settings page and verify the correct Site Key and Secret Key there. You may also need to update your settings with the reCAPTCHA API: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/index.html
