I duplicated an event. In the duplicate I tried to edit the permalink (by pressing the edit button below the event title above the description).

when I click apply and update the page it reverts to the old permalink.

I have made sure I am pressing ok after the edit. Once the page reloads after pressing the update (for the event) it refreshes with the original permalink.

changing permalinks on other events that are not duplicates does work on my site.

Hello,

Please see my reply here on the add to cart option not working as expected: https://eventespresso.com/topic/ticket-selector-redirecting/#post-230204

Next, if there is an existing event with the new URL, then it cannot be re-used.

Could you check to see if this is what is happening?

If you definitely want to re-use the URL, then you’ll want to edit the original event to add some extra characters (e.g. a number to the end) and save changes. Then go to to the new event and adjust the URL and save changes.

WIth all plugins except event espresso ones disabled I still get the error.

To reproduce:
create and publish event
duplicate event
publish duplicate
attempt to change duplicate permalink on duplicate event (fails)

interestingly if I edit the permalink before publishing the duplicate event then it works. I have also confirmed that using this method I can get a second duplicate of the original to have the permalink that I want as long as I change it before hitting publish the first time.

Hi,

I tested those steps and I was able to edit the URL for an event after duplicating it, publishing it, editing it and then saving the changes:

What web browser are you using?

Tried it on both Chrome and firefox with the same result

What are you chanigng the permalink from and to?

Which EE plugins did you have activated?

I tested your steps above on multiple test sites and could not reproduce the same problem so need to try and narrow this down some, I can edit the duplicate permlinks at any time before/after publishing the events.

Its also possible for this to be a theme conflict, have you tried switching to a default theme and re-testing?
