Hello!

We’ve purchased the developer license and premium support for Event Espresso. When we set up the plugin on our wordpress site, we get the following error when trying to register:

An error has occurred:
We’re sorry but your request failed to pass a security check.
Please click the back button on your browser and try again.
EED_Ticket_Selector – process_ticket_selections – 309

We only have 3 events set up right now and this happens on all 3 events. Is there a fix for this issue?

Current Version – Event Espresso 4.4.5.p

Thank you for your help!

Hi Brian,

Please backup your WordPress site and update to Event Espresso 4.4.6:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Next, are you running any caching services such as Cloudflare or a caching plugin such as W3 total cache or WP super cache on your site?

Another issue that could be occurring is that your host may be blocking the use of base64. This is used by the ticket selector. Ask your host to adjust the mod security rules should clear this up.

Hello,

We’ve updated Event Espresso to 4.4.6 and we are not running any cache services. I’ve contacted our web hosting company to see if they are using base64. I’ll update this thread as I learn more.

Hello Lorenzo,

Our web hosting company has disabled Mod_Security. However, we are still running into errors when trying to register for an event on our website. Is there another fix?

Is there a way we can view one of the events to investigate? If you need to send credentials to make that happen, please send them via this secure form:

Hello,

We’ve been trying a couple of other fixes, but none seems to work. I’ll send credentials to the secure form. Thank you.

Hi Brian,

I tried the credentials you sent and they do not appear to be full admin credentials. For example, when I try to view a page in the page editor, it says “You are not allowed to edit this item.” Also, when I try to view the Event Espresso > General Settings, it says “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

Generally speaking, we need admin level credentials along with working FTP acess in order to troubleshoot.
