Can I turn off the “Your Event Registration Details” email to registrant?

I’m setting up EE on my new site and it’s a been a while since I set up all the emails for admin and registrant.

Can you please guide me on how to turn off the “Your Event Registration Details” that sends to registrants. It’s a copy of the form they fill in when they register and I don’t see where that is set to send or not send.

I only want two emails to trigger when someone signs up:
1. custom message for “Payment Received”
2. custom message for “Registration Approved”

I see what’s happening actually. There is a primary registrant and registrant. Can you explain the difference.

I ran a test purchase yesterday on my own and received both emails for primary registrant and registrant. Feels like overkill. Can you explain a solution for this. I don’t’ want customers to receive three emails each time they register.

The ‘primary registrant’ is the registrant assigned to the ‘first’ ticket in the group, or if its a single ticket purchase, that single person is the primary registrant.

They are the ones considered to be handling payments for the group.

The Primary Registant context for most messages are NOT enabled by default, so this was something set up previously and yes, its possible to disable it.

Edit the message template you are using for Registration Approved, select the Primary Registrant ‘context’ (more details HERE)

At the top of the page is a toggle switch, click that to enable/disable the specific context you are editing for that template:

The ‘Primary registrant’ context is intended to be used as an additional email specifically for the PRimary Registrant, they are still a registrant but if you want them to receive additional details you can use that context specifically for them.

Side note becuase I see this come up a fair bit, it sounds like your using custom message templates.

It that so you can set a different ‘Registration Approved’ message on specific events?

I’d like to them to receive one custom message so I think I should turn off the “registrant” and keep the primary registrant turned on and set to the custom message I created.

does that sound like the correct action?

I see where the toggle is inside the message template.

That depends on your setup.

Do you have multiple ‘registrants’ in which each person should receive their own details?

You could just use the primary registrant context if you only ever want a single registrant email to send.
