I’ve purchased and uploaded the calendar table template but it will not load. When the page loads, it shows the short code [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”calendar-table” show_expired=false] instead of the list of events. the page in question is here: http://capitalalehouse.com/test2/

I’m assuming the problem is where the calendar-table template is supposed to live (there are conflicting reports in the forums). I have uploaded it to the following places (according to the instructions I’ve found in the forums) with no luck:
wp-content -> plugins -> espresso-custom-templates -> templates
wp-content -> uploads -> espresso -> templates

One user even stated that you should have the custom template plug-in activated, but the custom template folder downloaded from Event Espresso contains no plugins.

The site is running WordPress 3.9, and is using Headway themes for the site template. All Event Espresso (V3) plugins are the latest version as of yesterday afternoon when I re-installed.

Hi Matthew,

You can think of the Custom Template Add-on as a ‘template manager’ which pulls all of the events in and has a default template to display them.

When you use simply ‘[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW]’ this default template is used – the events-table template.

When using the shortcode you have provided the Custom Template Add-on will pull the events, and then use the Calendar Table Template to display the events.

This means that both those Plugins must be activated in order for that shortcode to work.

So to start you’ll need to check if the Custom Template Add-on is installed & active like any normal plugin, so if you go to Dashboard -> Plugins you should see this: http://take.ms/2c5QJ

Then check that the Calendar Template is also installed and activated: http://take.ms/aM6la

If not download both of those plugins from your account page and upload those through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload.

Then activate both those plugins and that shortcode should work.

Hi Tony –

Thanks for help.

I have installed and reinstalled both the Custom Template Add-on and the calendar-table in the plug-ins. Both have been freshly downloaded from Event Espresso, but the Custom Template Add-on will never appear in the list of plugins. (The Calendar-Table has appeared and can be activated)

I’ve deactivated all the other plugins that I can, thinking it might be a conflict, preventing it from appearing, but have had no success.

Do you have ftp access to the site or event cPanel to use the built in file manager?
