Call translation file from child theme

Hi,

I’m manually adjusting the (German) translation file for my site.
While I can replace event_espresso-de_DE.mo in event-espresso-core-reg/languages, this wont’t work with updates.
How can I place the .mo in my child theme and call the translation from there?

Additional question (along the same lines): how can I customize a template (e.g. event details) via the child theme?

Hi,

Translations

Add the language file to wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/

This will be checked by EE but will not be affected by updates.

Templates

Template files in a child theme should work just like a regular theme, see here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-themes-templates/

So you can create an archive-espresso_events.php or a single-espresso_events.php in the child theme and edit accordingly.
