Getting very fruhstrated.

for months I have gotten occational calls from customers saying they can’t complete a purchase on our website – I always try to purchase a ticket for the same day and it seems to work – so I assume they are technically challenged.

But today I have several calls and then tried and I CAN’T EVEN GET my site to work

I have screen shots but I don’t know how to attach them to this forum.

But the message is “An error occured, a valid price is required.”

Then on the next page it says

Attention
For The Illusionist & the Medium, please make sure to select between 1 and 101 attendees or delete it from your cart.Remove this item from your cart

PLEASE HELP

Hi Sean,

If you’re using any of the [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] shortcodes on your site then you will need to update to Event Espresso 3.1.35.1.P. If updating does not fix the cart issues you are seeing, can you post a link to the page where you are seeing the errors so we can investigate further?

It sounds like you have some bad event data in your session (cart). This can happen if you added an event to the cart but didn’t complete the process, then go back sometime later but in the meantime the event has closed. Try going to the “Registration Cancelled” or “Thank You” page, which will clear your cart, then starting the process over again. You may want to add a link to the “Registration Cancelled” page labeled “Clear Cart” with a note that if the user encounters a problem during the registration process, they can go there and start over.

wHOOPS spoke too soon.

I updated the plugins and it fixed the issues with Oct 31 but not for this weekend.

I have tried everything that you have suggested and the issues remain.

Try to start to buy tickets for this thursday. http://www.intriguetheater.com

Really fruhstrating.

Hi Sean,

I registered for this Thursday without any issues. Can you check again please? Maybe clear your browser cache.

I just tried and got the same message

“An error occured, a valid price is required.”

I got 7 messages today from people saying they are having trouble buying tickets.

I really don’t know what to do at this point. When I had 1shoppingcart – it didn’t look as pretty as EE but it worked fine.

I really don’t know what is going on but what scares me is the customers that don’t call in after it doesn’t work and just give up completely.

Hi Sean,

Can you go into the WP-super-cache plugin’s advanced settings and add the Event Espresso pages to the “Do not cache” list? After this you’ll need to delete the cache so it rebuilds a fresh cache with no Event Espresso pages included.

Here is a screenshot showing some default Event Espresso pages added to WP Super Cache’s “Do not cache” list:

I disable the “super cache” plugin completely – because I didn’t understand Josh’s directions.

I am still getting the error – when trying to buy tickets off my own site.

Unfortunately when you disable a caching plugin such as this the cache is still active (as is the case on your site)

As can be seen by

<!-- Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2013-10-17 09:27:45 -->
<!-- super cache -->

At the bottom of the pages.

If you are removing the plugin re-activate it, go to Settings -> Wp Super Cache.

On the ‘Easy’ tab you should see http://d.pr/i/LvZR

Make sure Caching off is selected and press ‘Update Status’

Then press Delete Cache.

Then De-activate the plugin.

We can also direct you through the steps to enable the plugin and allow event espresso to work, although it looks like the default EE pages have been changed, we would therefor need to know these pages.

Looks like that might have worked – we will see if the number of calls goes down and online reservations go up.

Thanks tony!

Is there a way I can disable the pop up description of a show on the calendar – and just have them click on the date for more information. I feel that pop up usually causes mor confusion.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Hi,

It is best to start a new forum topic for unrelated questions, it helps us and the wider community. However, in answer, if you go to the Calendar Settings page and change “Show Tooltips” to No it will stop the tooltips from showing.
