Hi, When not logged in at BirnamArts.com when trying to ‘book online’ the shopping cart page is not showing the correct event. Sometimes it even shows two events – but not the one being booked. I’ve cleared the WordPress cache and turned CDN service to development mode (so we are bypassing the cache) but it hasn’t fixed the problem. Can you have a look at it please? This critical; people can’t events.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

This is being caused by caching.

If I navigate to your cart without even looking at any of your events there are 2 events in the cart – http://take.ms/zPaEW

Which means the cart page has been cached with those 2 events added, then when people view the cart that cached page loads.

I can see you have WP-Super-Cache installed and that is serving the cached page – http://take.ms/GbQDO

Can you go to Dashboard -> Settings -> WP Super Cache -> Advanced.

Find the section to include the do no cache strings – http://take.ms/HGs1f

Then add you checkout page slug there, which is – /whats-birnam-arts/

I would also add your event listing to that list – /whats-on-events-at-birnam-arts/

So you end up with this – http://take.ms/7ciLf

(You may have other strings there to, if so they can stay)

Save the settings, flush the WP Super cache and re-test
(Note that disabling the plugin does not remove the cached files)

Thanks for the quick reply. That seems to have sorted it. ๐Ÿ™‚

All the best,

Great ๐Ÿ™‚

I would recommend following the guide here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

To make sure all EE3 pages are excluded from caching.

Note that you are using custom slugs for your pages, so the example slugs posted there will not work. You need to run through the steps to find the slugs for all your EE critical pages and add them to the list mentioned above.
