Better Than Groupon

Hi again,

So fortunately I’ve found a site in my area that far exceeds Groupon and makes way more financial sense. The local ad exposure/deal company allows me to set my own promotional deals online without demanding their oversight.

I’ve eliminated my 2-week 10% off early signup deal because I believe it weakens my own sales inadvertently, so at the moment their are no deals setup on my site.

My question is simply can I run my new $50 off deal with the Social Coupon Integration Add-On, and will it require the same set of individualized promotion codes that Groupon required I use?

In other words, how do I setup the deal through EE since the company I’m working with asked me to take care of that on my end since I’m setting up the deal myself.

Thanks as always,

Pete

Hey Pete,

The Social Coupons add on is still based on Groupon and similar services, so it’s coupon codes are single use 100% discount codes, so probably will not be useful for you if you just need to discount the $50, it depends on how the company you are using works.

Again, depending on your exact needs you could just use the standard promo codes.

So my deal will be advertised as any other deal would be – my understanding is that the interested customer will be able to print a copy of my $50 deal off of the company’s web site with a promotion code I’m guessing.

My question is: how can I setup a redemption process through EE for $50 off my $800 course with promotion codes. I’ve used the early sign up discount before, but is it possible for me to utilize promo codes without the Social Coupons add-on?

Thanks,
Pete

Go to the Promotional Codes section of the admin, set up your codes, then open the event in the event editor and enable those codes to be used on that event. You have several options. When you set up the codes, you can make them “global” codes or event-specific codes. Then in the event editor, you can enable “global” only, “global” plus event-specific codes, or all codes.
