this pre-release plugin has become deactivated with the following error message: An error has occurred: I’ve tried to download this new version from the pre-release channel but it doesn’t appear to be the right version. have I missed something or do you simply need to upload the new version for us? Thanks. |

Hi there, Actually there isn’t a new, updated version of the Automated Notifications add-on ready for beta testing yet. When it’s ready it will be made available to the pre-release channel. |
OK. meanwhile, how can I keep using the existing version? |
The existing version isn’t intended to be used on a production site. It was made available for beta testing only. If you want to continue beta testing you can install an older version of Event Espresso 4 like 4.9.53.p on a website and the current beta of the Automated Event Notification add-on can be tested on that site. |
What’s the timeline please? I don’t really want to use an old version of EE. But currently it’s still trying (and failing) to send automated messages despite the plugin being inactive. |
I do not have a timeline. You can deactivate the Automated messages by going to Event Espresso > Messages > Settings. |
I’m in settings. There is no option to deactivate the automated messages – there’s no reference to them at all. |
No. It means it’s not ready for production use and I don’t have a timeline for when it will be ready. |
OK, it’s been saving me hours each week so I hope its soon. Do I need to worry about the emails that queue to go out but never actually deliver? |
You can remove those from the queue and remove any event reminder cron tasks (via the Crontrol plugin) to make sure new batches of reminder emails do not get added to the messages queue. |
Same problem here. Is this something that will be ready in 1-2 weeks, months, years? I know there are threads going back several years related to this feature and for us it is a ‘must have’. If its right around the corner, please let me know – otherwise we’re going to have someone build a custom solution. Thanks |

Hi Charlie, I do not have a timeline. Older versions are available to download from Github: |

Update: There’s a new beta version of the Automated Upcoming Event Notification that’s available now. It’s still not ready for official release, but the new beta version is ready for the next round of testing. |
