I have a new authorize.net account and am trying to connect eventespresso to it on the website thebrownstoneny.com. I get the message “this registration step could not be completed. Please try again.” I turned on debug mode and got the same message. I looked at the logs and did not see anything odd. There are no pending transactions at authorize.net. I have authorize.net setup on a different website and it works fine, so I have succesfully done this before with eventespresso. What do I do now to get it to work? Thank you. |
Can you check to see if cURL is enabled on the server that hosts the new site? FYI, debug mode should only be used if you’re testing with credentials for Authnet’s development server, otherwise you should leave debug mode off. You can use the “Send test transactions? mode with the live server though. |

I don’t have easy access to the server (e.g. cpanel). Is there a way to test for “cURL” from WordPress. Otherise, I have to write to the hosting company. |
Hi Lawrence, There are WordPress plugins that will output PHPinfo to an admin page, which you could then check to see if curl is enabled. I’d hesitate to work on a site where I didn’t have access to the server though, there’s no easy way to remove a plugin if the site fatal errors. |

Thank you for the tip to phpinfo(). I confirmed that cURL is not there, and that it is on another one of my sites with eventespressor working. Once I get curl working (or perhaps transfer the site to my server) I will see if everything works, and if not, I will write back. But based on what you have said, it sounds like this is enough to cause the failure. Thank you. |

I am now getting errors when I try to edit the event in question. I saw some errors that looked very serious – as if there was something wrong with the EE4 tables in the database. But the errors disappeared before I could completely read them. Any ideas what is going on? Or how I can give you more information about what is happening and perhaps fix it so it works again? |

Another person found another error for a ticket: |
Hi Lawrence, Since this reply what has changed on the server? Did you move the site to another server or just install cURL on the current server? Do you have a control panel provided by your host? If you check the servers error logs you should fine those errors mentioned above, can you post them here so we can see. |

I am on the same server. |
We can’t guarantee we’ll be able to fix it, especially without cpanel access. If you buy a support token we can troubleshoot for up to 30 minutes using what we can from the WordPress admin, but I will tell you that without cpanel access this is a tough thing to troubleshoot. |
