We have EE 4.7.6 and have a few ticket options and several attendees for each event. The emails are coming through fine to the Admin and to the Primary Registrant. But none of the other attendees are receiving an email. I tested this using a Gmail address as well as a different email address. Each time, the attendee does not get a copy of their registration confirmation. We use the Invoice payment type – does the Pending status prevent the attendee from getting an email? I did not see any option under settings under Messages or General to enable this email. What am I missing?

Hi there Sandy, we’ve recently updated our page that has some information on using a transactional email service to explain how emails are handled in Event Espresso.

Based on what you have shared, it seems like some are working and others are not and they might be marked as spam. With Gmail, that routes them to a different folder instead of the main inbox.

Please take a look here and let us know if you have any questions:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/

Mandrill is no longer free and Postmark app offers an initial 25,000 emails as free. There are also other services like SendGrid that offer a set amount of emails as free.

Thanks, Lorenzo. But I don’t think this is our issue. I confirmed that under Messages in EE4, there is no email queue for the Registration Pending email that goes to Attendee (registrant). It will only send a Pending email to Primary and Admin. The only time the Attendee is getting an email is if the order is in Approved status – then they do get the Approved email template. I was hoping there was a way to add an email for the Pending template to also reach all attendees in the order.

Hi, if some emails are going out and others are not, then they may be marked as spam.

Another way to explain this is that Event Espresso does not restrict who can receive emails since it does not actually send any emails directly.

Were you able to take a look at the introductory text on the page that I shared earlier?

What happens if you send a test email through one of the message types via the messages editor? It looks like this:

Is that email received?

Lorenzo, thank you for trying to help. But I think you misunderstood my issue. I was not having a problem with only some people randomly not getting emails. I was only having a problem with the INVOICE payment type being PENDING status, and therefore the system appears to NOT send any email notice to the Attendee in that case. As soon as the event and payment are APPROVED status, they do get the email. This must just be the way you designed EE4. I did not see any template that goes to Registrant for Pending payments.

Hi Sandy, thanks for explaining further. The registration pending payment message type is part of the core plugin:

Could you go to your WP dashboard and then go to Event Espresso –> Messages –> Settings. Next turn the system off by clicking the toggle and then switch it back on:
