We had to postpone events and changed the event date of a number of current events. We noticed, though, that attendee records did not update (and when we resent a confirmation email via the attendee reports page, the original date was showing as the [start_date] and [end_date]). Is there a way of having all the attendee records update to the new date?
When you create a registration within EE3, whichever date is set on the event at the time of the registration is saved within that attendee record. In EE3, updating the date within the event will not update the attendee records themselves (it does with EE4).
By default the UI doesn’t have an option that will allow you to update the date on the attendee record, however, you could use the Attendee Mover Add-on to ‘move’ the attendee onto the same event they are currently on to update the record.
Each attendee will need to be manually updated to use the above.
The add-on is available on the Pre-release Channel and adds a section to the registration information section (when you click on the name on the attendee list) that lets you select the event to move the attendee to, select the option to ‘Move to new event’, set it to the current event and then click ‘Update Record’ at the bottom of thee page.
May I ask, why you have not updated to the latest version of EE3? (Currently v3.1.37.17.P)
And is there anything preventing you from updating to EE4? (Note that switching to EE4 is not ‘just an update’, it’s a completely new system that works differently to EE3 so you should test it works how you need on a test site before switching over).
