When I try to login on Iphone 6 with the mobile app I get the following message: Error occurred – The Server was acting as a gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server… I found a couple of threads with solutions that are beyond my capabilities and my coder is on vacation :/ and my client has an event… |
Hi there, Can you post a link to the topic in question, and fill us in on what part you need help with? |

Sure, she said her reds didn’t match but I am using the correct info so that is not the issue, then there was a troubleshooting link that was provided that required code. TY! Topic link: Solution link: |
OK so in the other topic the solution did not involve doing any coding. The problem was they had input an incorrect URL into the app’s URL field. May I ask what’s the URL that you typed into the apps URL field? |
I tried 3 different URLs http://newyork-811.com |
Those should be fine, because this URL returns results: Have you tried going through the steps listed in the troubleshooting guide? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#troubleshooting |
No error messages apply that are in the troubleshooting guide… |
I figured it out. The permissions are for the wordpress account, which was not clear on the app. My client and I thought the log in info required was the Event Espresso account. I’m now in. Thanks for you time. |

Just FYI, as a UX note since the top field indicator includes “Website” URL I think it would be clearer on the app if the subsequent fields were also marked as “Website” “Website” Login ID I think that’s what was so confusing, that the top field indicated “website” but the other 2 fields did not, which may make some users think the Log In and Pass refer to Event Espresso… |
FYI it might help to explain that Event Espresso doesn’t host/serve/store any of your event or registration data. That’s all served from your site. |
