When I try to login on Iphone 6 with the mobile app I get the following message: Error occurred – The Server was acting as a gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server…

Also, please be sure that the URL that you input into the app login exactly matches your WordPress site’s URL. If the app tries to connect to a different website, the app will return the error you saw.

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes, the error I was receiving was because the URL was not correct. Now I am getting an error for Credentials Mismatch – I am using the User Name and Password for the site – actually a username specific for the ticket taker – but none of them seem to work. Am I supposed to be using some other User Name & Password? In working on another ticketing system I had no problem with downloading the app and scanning tickets.

The other ticketing system was quite likely not running on your web server.

Does your ticket takers user role have the required capabilities listed in the documentation?
