I’ve seen the blog post for the EE4 workaround for seating charts, but isn’t the best solution. I also know the third-party add-on is no longer in service. I know there is a lot of work that goes into developing this for the future, but are there any suggestions for other third party add-ons/plugins that work alongside EE4 as of 2022?

Hi there,
I’m not aware of any other 3rd party integrations for a seating chart and for an integration of this type it would need to be an add-on very specific to EE4.
One of the biggest problems with seating chart integrations is that they often take a lot of time to develop and maintain. Aparna’s 3rd party add-on used seats.io to mitigate that to some degree but considering they have now stopped development on that add-on I’d guess not enough users wanted to pay the 360 €/year fee to seats.io plus the payment for the seating chart add-on to make it worthwhile to maintain the add-on.
We do have a seating chart integration add-on on our roadmap here, however, it has a relatively low number of requests over a long period of time. Combine that with comments such as this:

And you can see why I’m making the above assumption about the cost of the integration/add-on. It’s a lot of time to outlay for an integration that may not be used by many due to the costs involved, creating a fully custom stand-alone version would also be much more expensive.
(Again, I’m simply making an educated guess here as to why the above add-on is no longer available so this is just my thoughts and nothing official)
