Most of the time, answers to custom questions gathered during the registration process will be saved just fine. However, every now and then — seems like maybe 1/50 registrations — the answers will not save. These are registrations for which payment confirmation has been received from the payment gateway, so clearly the user has gotten through the entire registration transaction.
What’s very odd is that when I export a CSV of registrants, for rows where the custom question answers are not saved, the basic registration information appears in a separate set of columns to the right:
fname lname email address city state zip
However, for all others, this basic information is stored like this:
First Name[ATT_fname] Last Name[ATT_lname] Email Address[ATT_email] Address Part 1[ATT_address] Address Part 2[ATT_address2] City[ATT_city] State[STA_ID] Country[CNT_ISO] ZIP/Postal Code[ATT_zip]
I’ve done some troubleshooting on a few sites with this and it appears to be related to a JavaScript issue. Since it’s working most of the time for your site, when it doesn’t work it may be a case where:
a) the browser being used to register has JavaScript turned off
b) it’s an older browser like IE 6/7
I filed a ticket with the developer team and they’re going to work on fixing the underlying issue.
