I have a fairly new install of EE4. All seems to be working well, except that when there’s a new registration for one of my events, it doesn’t save the answers to custom questions I’ve set up. When I go into the Registration, the fields appear blank and looking in the database, the relevant record in the esp_answer table has a blank ANS_Value field. It doesn’t seem to matter which data type it is – I have TEXT, TEXTAREA and DROPDOWN questions and all of them are blank. It is also blank on the registration email that the attendee receives.
I am on WordPress 3.9.2 and EE 4.3.0p. I am not using the Calendar add-on.
Manually adding an attendee from the admin area works as expected – the values are saved and come up fine. No attendees have the questions answered in either of the two events I’ve created.
A little update on this: Event Espresso 4.4.4.p was finally released today and it includes a fix for the issue you reported.
