I created a custom email message today. Then tried to send myself a test message. When I did, I got this error: “An error has occurred: Then I tried resending a message to my test registration from the registrations dashboard and there I get this error: “WordPress Error Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” This worked fine until today. I don’t know or understand what changed. Thank you for the help |

Hi there,
Can you post the steps you are taking on the site to trigger this please, and/or possible include a screenshot of the page you are on? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots
This I can reproduce locally and we are investigating. |

I go to EE > Messages > > custom Message Templates TAB > Select TBEX Europe Reciept in Email Message Templates tab > Enter my email address into the box marked “Send a test email to *” > click TEST SEND button. When I do that, I get this error message near the top of the page: |

Hi there, We’ve identified the cause of this and pushed a fix live which is version 4.10.17.p, could you please update to that version and confirm if this still happens? If you don’t see the update available in Dashboard -> Plugins for Event Espresso then go to: Event Espresso -> General Settings. Don’t make any changes and just hit save to force a version check. It should then show the update available. My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. |

Working. Thanks guys! Was it a conflict with a WP update or something? |

We added functions to sanitize data in various places and throughout various sections of the plugin, testing showed no issues but as soon as we released it started getting reports of errors like the above. Turns out under some setups the way we sanitized the data could cause issues so in the case of the above the request variables were missing and so EE couldn’t find the data it needed. The new changes basically slackened off some of the sanitization and changed how we do others 🙂 Again, apologies for any inconvenience this has caused on your end. |

Working well now. Thanks again. |

You’re most welcome 🙂 |
