I see lots of posts about this issue. I am using Super Cacher on Siteground and followed the instructions to exclude the EE pages. Still having same problem of getting this error after name and email are entered everytime.

Is it possible captcha or limit logins is causing any problem? I can’t think what other plugins would conflict that I’m using.
Site was working fine for a long time and I’m not sure what I did recently that changed it. Maybe just an update?

I looked via ftp to see if there was anything I could get rid of but I don’t see any cache files other than what looks like the important files for supercacher plugin. Should I reinstall that one?

Hi Megan,

WordPress 4.5+ included jQuery 1.2 which is more strict than previous versions.

A lot of themes (and plugins) used JavaScript that was actually incorrect but previous versions of jQuery allowed it to run. Now with version 1.2 it throws an error, which then breaks the EE Registration Page validation and causes the above problem.

Take a look here for more info:

and

The first step to fix is to make sure all of your plugins and the theme are up to date. Most have been updated to fix this already. Be sure to create a full site backup before running updates just to be safe.

OK it must be the theme. Im using Avada but the version is now couple yrs old. Have avoided updating it because I did heavy CSS customizing and they changed some of the framework so it’s a ton of work, but guess I gotta do it now. In the meantime I am just putting regular paypal button code in the place of the ticket selectors so people can register!

You can also manually patch the JavaScript in your older version of the Avada theme. It’s usually a one or two line fix in one of the Avada theme’s JavaScript files. You can find the exact error and its source by checking the page with Firebug or the Chrome web inspector.
