I’m on EE3 and would like to know how to add Amazon Payments to my list of accepted payments. I’ve already established an account with Amazon directly. But I don’t see Amazon Payments listed in my WP plugins. I don’t come up with anything resembling Amazon Payments when I do a search of available plugins. And, as far as I know, I don’t have a .zip file to upload. Thoughts as to what I’m missing to make this work with EE3? |
Hi John, How are you today? As far as I can tell Amazon Payments is just another payment gateway, so a developer would need to be involved to build that integration. If you are interested in sponsoring this gateway for EE4, please see this page for details on how to do that. |

Hi, Garth. Thanks for your response. The reason I’m even looking to add Amazon Payments is that my customers are having to try — over and over again — with PayPal to get it to work for them. I can’t tell if they’re inexperienced web consumers or if PayPal just has exceptionally high security standards. But I literally see three or four attempts at registering until they finally get a payment to go through … or until they finally give up and spend their money elsewhere. (By the way, I’ve spoken with the folks at PayPal at great length, and there’s nothing more that they or I can do to make it work better for my site. I’ve posted this page to try to help: http://www.cpr-twincities.com/paypal.) I didn’t build my website, so I don’t know what was done to allow me to use PayPal for payments in the first place, as I do now. Would I need a developer just for Amazon Payments, because it’s not in your list, or for every gateway (including the ones already within EE3)? Anyway, I don’t recognize any of the gateways listed in EE3, and I want my customers to feel comfortable in making payments. Thus, I was looking for a recognizable name like Amazon or Google. John |
Hi John, You can activate the payment gateway options under Event Espresso > Payment Settings. We have over 30 different options. You don’t need a developer in order to activate those. You will just need an account with whichever gateway/payment options you choose. You only need a developer if you don’t see a gateway listed that you would like to use, like Amazon. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them. |
