How can I setup a custom URL for my events? The included events page is clunky to customise and doesn’t fit my theme very well.
I see there is an option for an ‘Alternative Registration Page’, however I understand this only works for external alternatives. I’d like the ‘Upcoming Events Widget’ etc to link direct to https://www.destinsparks.com/photo-tours/new-zealand-photo-tour/ (Which is a standard WordPress Page with Ticket Selector shortcode) rather than the ‘Event’ itself.
I hope that make sense.

Hi there,
Currently this is not something that can be done easily.
Whilst it would be relatively straight forward to force the widget to use a different URL than the standard event URL (you would create a custom widget based on the original and then alter the link within that, likely using a custom field for the new URL) its not as straight forward for the other locations EE outputs the URL.

Hi Tony, thanks for getting back to me. What about a way to override the ‘Alternative Registration Page’ feature to permit an internal link? Currently it works perfectly except it disables the Shortcode Ticket Selector

I checked into this and currently you can’t as there are multiple checks for the alt reg page to determine if the ticket selector should be displayed or not with no way to filter those checks.
We do have a ticket to allow for this and I will add this thread to the ticket. At this time to alter the output of the default event list and single event page you would need to create your own theme templates.

The fix for the issue reported here, about the alternative reg page and the ticket selector shortcode, was included in the Event Espresso 4.10.3.p release.
